For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1 Tim. 6:10)

One Power Principle that will give you an advantage against satan and this world is to be free from greed. Now greet is rooted deeply in the human heart. Most people will never admit it, but we all as sinners have that root in us. Most people have never dealt with large amounts of money and therefore they don't understand how much greed they have lurking beneath the surface of their pious ego.

Have you heard the expression "Money and power change people"? It's true! People who have never had power or money, when they get some, a different side of them manifests and most of the time it ain't pretty!

Just think of it - the root of greed is the reason for great many people to never come to the knowledge of God in the first place! Wrong theology has told us to tell people Jesus loves them and not to confront them regarding sin. However, greed, or the love of money and material possessions is identical with the worship of false gods.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Col. 3:5 (NKJV)

Covetousness is the same as idolatry. In this case a person who is covetous worships Satan without knowing it. Satan is not obvious. Someone had said that the greatest success of Satan would be to convince people he doesn't exist!

This way he can bring people into various captivities without them knowing who is behind the plot. Addictions to drugs, alcohol, sex, money, fame - they are all the works of Satan by which he holds people under his control.

Satan's greatest goal is not to kill people, but rather to bring them to a place of control, so they can do his bidding.

that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. 2Tim. 2:26 (NKJV)

Whether it's through addictions, greed, love of power or whatever else, Satan knows what to tempt us with due to the familiar spirits that have been working in the generations.

That's why you can see certain addictions run in families for generations. These demons simply follow the family and exploit the open doors of generational sin to access our lives.

That's why there are prayers for repentance from generational sin in the Bible.

keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” Ex. 34:7 (NKJV)

please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father’s house and I have sinned. Neh. 1:6 (NKJV)

Root out greed from your heart and mind! You will then be able to think clearly and receive from God wisdom for prosperity! And once you get it, keep rooting out anything that the enemy might have planted in the mean time. Don't be one more victim of greed! We are free through Jesus!
